Todays second task is to install windows across a 2*128GB crucial M4 RAID 0 array

I have done a RAID 0 install previously on mechanicals but not SSDs

What is the process i need to go through?
I am aware that i wont have TRIM.
Are there any more caveats etc?

stripe and BIOS settings would be handy..is it just RAID in bios?

I have some Corsair SSDs in RAID0 and configuration was the same as normal HDDs, you'll need to enter your controllers BIOS during boot to set up an array.

thanks, i know i needed to change bios to raid, didnt know if there was anything else.

no, this is an old 1366 socket sata 2 motherboard (yep quite old now) im fairly sure no trim.. will i encounter any issues not having it?

i did it as i already had a 128 and thought i may as well buy another rather than a 256. also im only on sata 2.

its fine risk wise. PC auto backups to my server every night. should something happen it only takes 30 mins to call it back, dont even need to reinstall windows. i never had 1 issue when i ran raid 0 on my velociraptors

i probably wouldnt have bothered had i not go the server

benches say 500MB read so quite nice
