Raid 0 (stripped and ..

....and is this the question I have 5 hards drives 2 x 500 GB Seagate Barracuda ES, 2 x 250 WD - And 1 x 250 Seagate.

KK wanna run 2 drives in raid 0 and just use rest for storage, Would I be better off using the 250GB for the raid od the slightly faster 500G H/D.

I looked at raid 5 but don't like the performance loss.

Ive also thought about 2 x 250 GB in raid 0 1 x 500 GB as mirror (don't know if this can be done) then the other 2 drives 250 + 500 GB used as storage.

Any advice will be appreciated

So maybe I'm best off then just raiding the 2 - 500GB hard drives, and just keep rest for storage/back ups, I don't normally tend to worry out drive failure as it so rare these days ..never in 15 years having happened to me
