Hi guys,

just looking for a bit of experience - has anyone used the RAID facility built into the ION chipset in conjunction with Linux? If so what kind of support does it have? I assume that it's some kind of fake-raid...but is this variant supported in Linux distros? If not, I may as well get a cheapo Atom board which lacks ION (+RAID) and just use the plain old Linux software RAID solution.
For reference, I'm thinking about RAID 1-ing two 1TB drives together.

Cheers for any info!

The on-board RAID allows software RAID to be applied to an OS that doesn't have a software RAID feature (like windows).

Since Linux does have a software RAID feature, it's pointless using on-board RAID.
