I currently have one Samsung F1 1TB drive and im considering getting a second and putting it into RAID.

Would i get a noticeable increase in gaming or general windows performance by doing this?

I wouldn't run 2 x 1TB drives in Raid0 as if anything went wrong thats a lot of data to lose.

Getting 2 smaller drives 250Gb or 320Gb would improve load times and have less data loss risk, getting 2 x SSD's would be better still.

I had a raid0 config running with 2 74gb raptors a while ago, and load times in games were pretty nippy, although as mr x plosion has mentioned data loss can be an issue, as happened with mine when the array failed. Thankfully everything was backed up to a third 250gb storage drive.

hmm, cant afford that.

so the census is then that the performance gain for me to use raid on my 1tb Samsung F1 is not worth the expense of getting another drive?

The performance gain is probably worth it but that is heavily dependent on the rest of your hardware.

The risk of the array going down seems too great for 2tb of data, thats all the objections are over :)

Yes, but not much. Not enough to warrant the cost, effort and potential of data loss in my opinion.
