i have 3 maxtor dm9's and they were perfect in raid 0 on my old mobo but not with this one.
when connected to the NVraid controller the write speeds are fine and what a 3 drive array would produce but the read speeds are only slightly higher than a single drive.
write speeds = 170-180 mb/s read speeds = 60-70mb/s
when i use the SIL controller both write and read speeds are the same as what a 2 drive array would produce making the 3rd disk useless when it comes to performance although the space of the 3rd disk is there.
write and read speeds = 100-110mb/s
im using the 1009 bios and the latest chipset drivers for the NVraid. dont know which updated ones are for the sil raid.
all 3 drives work perfect on their own so its not a drive problem.
also when installing XP on the NVraid controller i get a popup during the installation of XP saying a hard drive has been installed and is ready to use. i never got that when using NVraid on my NEO2 and i dont get it when using the SIL controller.
any ideas?
