Hi I have just finished my new build and im now in the process of seting up my 2 raptors in raid but im having a bit of trouble doing this,
My mobo is an EVGA nforce 680i an so far ive installed the raprors in terminals 1-2 ive gone into setup an activated raid and also activated channels 1 and 2 primary then I saved but apon bootup It wizzes past the bit where you press F10 for raid config stopping me from seting up a raid 0 configuration.
So if anyone has any ideas let me know or if ive done something wrong then put me straight.;)

Hmm, that's a bit perplexing. I suppose the first thing I'd do is fiddle around with the ports on the motherboard into which your cables are plugged.

Are the disks visible in the BIOS? Is there an option in the BIOS to get to the same utility that F10 would summon?

So you actually see the screen where you press f10 to enter the raid utility? If it's too quick you could always try and pause the page before it disappears using the "PrtSc" button on your keyboard...The one above the insert key normally.

To be honest the RAID page during bootup normally hangs for at least a few seconds =/

there is no settings in bios to config the drives only to enable raid and tapping the F10 key and trying to pause the page doesnt work.
My concern is with the channel settings I have followed the instructions on this page.
http://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=57883
but Im not sure which channels i need to onpem my drives are ind sata points 1 2 is that channel 1 & 2

Oh and both drives are showing up in bios.

Going by that link, if your drives are plugged into ports '1 & 2' on your motherboard, then making sure in the bios that RAID function is enabled and 'SATA 0 Primary AND secondary' are enabled, and you press F10 before exiting the bios so it saves the settings, I don't see there being any issue...

If your only using the two drives, try disabling the other ports as well. i.e: Sata 1 primary/secondary and sata 2 primary/secondary.

Then when you see the RAID screen press F10 to goto the setup page as it shows.

If that fails, try one of the other controllers, the green or pink one to see if that makes a difference.

I've installed the raptors in terminals 1-2 ive gone into setup an activated raid and also activated channels 1 and 2 primary

^^^ Is that what you've been doing? Cause when I read that it seems to me your enabling only the two primary ports in the bios...on 1 + 2...2 having nothing connected to it I think.

You need to plug your drives into ports 1 & 2 on your motherboard. Then in the bios enable SATA 0 Primary, and SATA 0 Secondary...I believe that's correct anyway.

Well I have managed to sort it I activated sata 0 Primary and secondary and even got windows on it but now im having another problem which may have been the route of the other issue,
One of my raptors is acting up every other bootup it vanishes the when it does boot into XP I go to do somnething and I get a bubble saying critical error on 1 of the drives.

What make of hard drive is it? Try and get a hard drive test for it and run it just to make sure its definitely a hardware fault...Although it probably is.

If it's a new drive and it's doing thing's like that then try and get a replacement quite frankly.

There Western Digital Raptors and there not spanking new I bought them of ebay over 6 months ago and have been using them as a raid 0 storage drive ,
But I did check and WD say there still in warranty but it is no good as when installing I snapped the plastic bit on the sata power connection which doesn't change anything I just use the old style connection But in WD's small print it say warranty is void upon any damage.
