I have recently brought all of the components for my pc and put them all together turned it on oeverything goes fine so i set up the hard drives to raid 0 on my p5q deluxe mobo and go ahead on installing the OS which is a 64 bit proffessional now it keeps telling me that it is not recognizing any hard drives so then i tell it to continue regardless and then it carries on the setup but then it comes up with an error telling me to run a disk check because the harddrives maybe corrupt? what should I do? is it possible to raid to harddrives together and then install the os?

Please help meee :) :)

Thankyou

You probably need to install the RAID drivers. I think you press F6 when prompted during the XP installation and it allows you to load the RAID drivers via a floppy disk. You can also use a program called nLite that will allow you to slip stream the drivers on to the XP CD.

I tryed pressing F6 lol and nothing actually happened i actually tryed so many times i broke my keyboard, but yes i do think you are right where would i get the drivers from? in POST it also says that no hard drives are recognised do i need a driver just for it recognize my hard drives?

The drives should be reconised soon as you boot up, have you gone through the CTRL I setup just after the first boot screen?

Double check all your connections to the discs.

Yeah yeah i did the CRTL - I thing set em up in raid 0 that all worked fine it just gets an error i have been looking on the internet and i need a sata raid driver ut i dnt know which one to get?

Thats for use in windows I think, the drivers should be on the cd which come with your motherboard.

look at pages 4-60 onwards in manual metions how to set the RAID.

yeah it is but you can extract the files so that you can use it when installing the os trouble is i am having trouble extracting the files :(

Pressing F6 when prompted during the Windows setup will appear to do NOTHING.
A little later on the setup will say that it can't find a driver for the controller and give you a prompt where you can browse to the correct folder/files on your floppy dive.

yeahhhhh cheers well i have got the driver files now "i think" lol i know it is an intel raid controler on the p5q deluxe so i have got the driver from intel and have extracted the aprropriate files and get this xD i have had to go up in to my attic to get a floppy disk drive out of a 12 year old pc because i dnt have one anywhere else it had a 4.7GB hardrive in it xD

Oooooo i have just put the mobo cd in dwn stairs on my other pc and it has the raid drivers on it xD

I am very pleaseeedddddddddddddddd lol

I am not sure whether my os is 64 bit i think it is coz when the setup is initiating it initiates a file with 64 bit in its name

My mate gave me a free genuine copy of windows xD coz his dad it like a mega tech guy
