Starbreeze AB, one of Sweden’s leading independent game developers, today announced its agreement with the Croatian studio Lion Game Lion regarding the game development project RAID: World War II. Starbreeze will fund the development with 8 MUSD, and will have the opportunity to recoup 120% of its investment with an ensuing 50/50 royalty split. Lion Game Lion and Starbreeze Studios will each own 50% of the intellectual property rights for the game.
RAID: World War II is an action-packed, four player co-op shooter game that lets players team up as the Raid crew and venture through the epic events of World War II.

Well it's 4 player coop and if it's anything like payday 2 then starbreeze will turn it into a stealth p2w, f2p with millions of micro transactions.

Well, this is finally out... and its' been quite heavily reduced in the Steam sale to under £8.

Anyone tried it? Thoughts? Seems to get mixed reviews, but, for the money I've one friend who plays it so am tempted to give it a blast.

It looks terrible but in a good way - potentially a laugh for the odd evening - couldn't see myself playing it seriously.

Well, I bought it, and it's actually pretty good fun! If you take it for what it is, a bit of a giggle with a reasonably good FPS mechanic underneath, with a mix of gameplay style from L4D / Payday and bucket loads of Nazis to shoot - it's fun!

It helps playing with people you know of course, and the graphics do look a bit dated but they're not exactly bad. I've not explored all the class types properly, but I'm loving the 'heal everyone' special ability of the Assault class, and my Tommy gun is getting to be a bit of a beast!
