Hi guys. My Rampage 2 Extreme died a few nights ago, and thankfully a replacement should be on its way to me soon. However, I had 2 SSDs in RAID0 hooked up to the board with some very important files on it that I didnt have get to put on my external drive.

I just want to know if the current array I have, and all the data, will be present and accessible when I hook them up to the new motherboard and recreate the striped array. I was using the onboard controller.

Cheers

Like the others have said it should be fine providing the new board is the same chipset.

Just go into the BIOS and change to RAID and it should automatically pick your original RAID pack up,

DO NOT create a new array in the RAID BIOS though as this will just clear the original configuration, and leave you with a non booting system.

important files on a raid0....

As said just plug the drives in enable RAID in the bios and the array should be as it was before.

Thanks guys.

And yes, important files on RAID0 is silly. I had them on my desktop as I was working on them, intending to transfer them before I shutdown that night as I always do. Pity I didnt get that far :(

Thanks again for the info :)
