RAID0 Stripe Size for 7200.10's

Hi guys,

Got a pair of Seagate 7200.10's coming tomorrow that I want to put in a RAID 0 array. I remember some of you have already had great results doing this. I wanted to ask, what stripe size did you use, or would you recommend using? Obviously this also applies to RAID0 array users more generally, not just those running 7200.10's.

I like a 16kb or 32kb stripe, but it depends on the tasks you do as to whats best

I tried different sizes, and found a stripe size of 32KB (cluster 4KB) to be what worked best for my purposes, ie general work in XP, the some games, and even working with quite large files.

could someone explain to me what difference this makes. ive got mine set to optimal and i think its at 64kb. dont know what it means though.
