Basically will be setting up a new server for a local business, they will be using SAGE software for all the orders along with all the usual stuff u can expect on a office network.

Just wondering what your recommendations are with the raid setup? i know raid5 is faster and can also recover in the event of 1 disk goin down or is it better to play it safe and go with raid1? (where the HDD's are an exact copy)

If it is mainly read performance and redundency required then RAID 5 is the way forward.
However write performance on a RAID 5 array can be rather poor.

Also remember that you only get the true performance benefit of RAID 5 arrays with "proper" RAID 5 controllers.
Your built onto motherboard controllers are not going to offer you anything like the same performance.

However if it is redundency more than anything then RAID 5 is probably the way to go.
