Raikkonen to WRC Confirmed

Good luck to him. Let's just hope the WRC starts to spruce up a bit like it's glory days of the mid to late 90's.

Right now it's a pretty dreary affair, who wants to see two manufacturers and two drivers competing against each other for an entire year. :(

As great a driver as Loeb is he has made the WRC into what F1 was when Schumacher was around. Take nothing away from him because he is a brilliant driver, but it's kind of like watching a movie and knowing the ending every time, although this year I must say he was pushed very close, right to the end.

I don't think Raikkonen's that much of a crowd puller in the UK, despite the small selection of his nutjob fans!

 :D

Any ideas why the Junior team with skip the New Zealand event?

Also, how is the Factory and Junior teams worked out? Do they have the same car / parts? Is it like RedBull and Toro Rosso? Two sets of cars within the same team?

Next year [Raikkonen] will drive rallies and possibly the Le Mans 24 Hours, which both interests and excites him a lot.
From Kimi's manager and now he has sighned to drive for Citroen that just happens to be run by Olivier Quesnel who also runs Peugeot's 908 Programme aswell.

And Loeb is pretty much a done deal baring a few more simulation test's as Le Mans does not clash with any rallies this year.

I think its more like the Aston Martin teams at le mans, where there limited to the number of cars per team, so create 2nd teams to be able to run more cars. Effectively Citroen and Citroen Junior are the same team with the same cars.

TBH, the whole field is level, all the Fords are built by M-Sport, and all the Citroens are built by Citroen Sport (i think). Of course the support and money the teams get vary.
