So apart from noticing that STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl is quite cheap on Steam this week I've seen that Railworks is a bit cheaper than normal. :) £23.44 down from £34.99.

Now it looks like a decent 'game' and I'm probably geeky (sad) enough to play it but since there's no demo either on Steam on RailSimulator.com I don't want to buy Railworks in case I don't like it and since Steam has no refund option.

So has anyone played it and liked it? :p Or am I better off getting Rail Simulator cheap off an online store?

We laughed hard at the game watching some youtube videos. It looks nothing short of terrible. (And I am a big simulator fan, flight and racing)

But you literally accelerate and then brake. You fail if you miss a scheduled stop.

I would try it if it was free. I wouldn't pay 50p to try it.

Well this is one of the reasons I hate games without demos. Why can't I try a game before I buy it? Hence this thread about Railworks. :)

I was a big fan of the "prequel" to this, Rail Simulator.

There is a demo of that which you can find here:

Railworks is an enhancement of that so will give you the chance to see if you like the genre or not.

Thought it was the better Rail simulator available and what with the next MS Train Sim postponed, is the only modern Rail sim available.

It is not sad to enjoy a Train Sim, I dont own an anorak but the scenarios/missions can keep you entertained for HOURS.

LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of custom tracks etc to play with.

If you have the cash to spare, I'd say get it.

Im tempted :)

After an hour or so of mocking Farm Simulator whilst watching my friend play it I ended up quite enjoying it!

Now Forklift Simulator on the other hand (I'm not making it up) is one of the worst 'games' ever made. You have a forklift (natch), a tiny warehouse and boxes you have to lift from one place to another. No stacking either! Who sat down and thought the world was lacking warehouse simulations games?

My dad has this game... i will never tire from the endless ribbing i can give him for owning it. :D

If you like trains, which he obviously does, why not buy it?

Ive not played it, so im of no help what so ever, sorry...
