Rain Meter

Anyone able to help?

i'm trying to get rain meter to show the clock in digital form onto of my desk top - any ideas?

Copy a shortcut to the .exe file and place it in here:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

(Make sure you can see Hidden Files)

Can you not just right click on Startup from the windows menu and click "open" or whatever it's called now? That should open the folder and then you can drag the shortcut in.

Mine starts automatically when i turn on. Could be something to do with it being Windows 7 perhaps, i'm on XP.

Not sounding stupid, but what's a rain meter?
Is this linked to sensors outside of your house, or is it an internet thing related to some weather channel?

Fair question, if you look on the post your desktop thread then you might see a lot of people with large clocks and calendars on their desktop. Thats what rain meter does, it puts stuff like that on

Click on the Windows menu symbol (or press your windows key) go to "All Programs"

Locate the folder that says Startup and right click on it.
You'll get some menu options, one of which will be "Open" (may be labelled slightly differently under 7)

That will open the actual Startup folder so now you just place the shortcut you made into that folder.
