Ubisoft hasn't given up on the game yet, as today the publisher announced the release of a free downloadable Fan Pack for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC editions of the game scheduled for July. Included in the pack will be three remixed maps of old: dark versions of Murdertown and CQB Training, and Calypso Casino, a level from the original Rainbow Six Vegas.

Maps aren't the only additions in the Fan Pack. It will also include a game update that adds a new gameplay option called High Stakes, which removes some of the game's more forgiving elements. For instance, High Stakes will disable players' radars, aim assistance, and health regeneration. Ammunition will also be more limited, and moving while shooting has a greater negative impact on accuracy.

Finally, the update includes a variety of balance tweaks, new features like a directional indicator when players are within range of a grenade, more spawning and chat options when hosting a game, and new ranks and A.C.E.S. levels for players who have already maxed out the game's current player prestige limits.

i still love rainbow six
and see it as the counterstrike of consoles this gen

there are some great multiplayer maps and hopefully this new content will get me into it a bit again

best of all the update is free!

anybody else still enjoying R6V2?

only thing i think is missing is a killcam - but that was just cod4 spoiling me!!!

[although mgo is priority still]

I traded in RSV2 3 days after I got it. I couldn't see much improvement from the first.

COD4 is where it's at. I have been hooked these past weeks.

It's nice to see they are still supporting it though. But then again I would expect them too.

I bought the game but hardly had the time to play it!

I love the first one though, so no doubt I'll love this one.

I think a true sequel needs to be on the cards though, I don't want to be limited to just one place. I really like the idea of a hardcore mode, it will be more like the good old PC days of Rogue Spear and Ravenshield.

I love R6 Vegas, it easily rivals CoD4. The 2nd one is good but I feel they didn't really add much in-comparison to the first one! Ill deffo be getting this update though, Murdertown is 1 of my favourite maps! Recently I went back to the first one but I was getting green lines all over the place, only happens in split-screen co-op anyone else had this?? Doesnt happen on the second one.
