Raise the game - If you return card do you lose games?

not 100% sure
but quite possibly or a lot of people would deliberately
be doing that
or selling the games and returning the cards
black text on blue background doesnt stand out very well by the way :)

If its a new card then id say the games go back, or the value deducted from the refund.

If its an older casd going back under warranty then id say no

Isn't it done by a code? I can't imagine they'll go to the effort of invalidating a code because you returned it. Deducting it from the refund seems more likely, but even then I'd be surprised.

Depends on the retailer I'd imagine. I returned a card to OcUK once because I wasn't happy with it after some more extensive use. Nothing was ever said about the code, which I'd used, and I was refunded in full (I'll also note that it wasn't my intention to nab some free games and I should have waited until I was sure I was happy with the card). However, I once ordered a card with free games from a different retailer and they sent the two codes it came with physically in sealed envelopes with the card, noting that if I returned the card and an envelope was unsealed, they'd deduct the value from any refund.

Well technically the games are free or so they say, as in just a way to tempt you to buy a much more expensive product i.e few hundred. They keys are usually given to hardware makers to get gamers to play their games and show off their games on fast gfx cards (hopefully) and the hardware makers in turn help promote their games in advertising plus as said it helps show off the hardware a bit (hopefully). Its like a ill scratch ur back if u scratch mine. Its virtually no loss to the publisher as its just a key to a digital product there not really losing money as they havent spent anything on physical cds/dvds or packing etc.

I know that the retailers I normally use have the codes valued at around 35 quid so if you return the card in your 14-day period and the seal is broken on the code or you have redeemed it through the retailer's online service, you get deducted the 35 quid.

In would imagine the retailer may take a different view depending on the reason for the return.
If you just decided that you didn't want it, then fair enough, you should pay for the game.
However, if the card was faulty (not your fault) and if the retailer was unable to replace the card, it would be unfair for the retailer to deduct the cost of the game.
