Hi guys,

I really like the smart Ralph Lauren shirts and I would like to buy a few, but not sure how much I should be paying and where would be the best place to buy them from?

Thanks

Such places sell past season stuff and slight factory seconds.
I've not been to Bicester Village in years, it used to be just full of factory outlets, and you could get some good deals. I hear it's become much more mainstream these days though and is more of just a regular shopping village, as there isn't much else in that area anyway.

If you want the latest stuff, where you will be paying full wack, you are best looking in places like House of Fraser (Oxford St one has huge section), Selfridges, John Lewis and there own shop on Bond Street.

If you are buying online, you probably just want to make sure you buy from a reputable retailer, due to the amount of fakes.

I went on a holiday to Mauritius some years ago, and they actually used to make a lot of the shirts there, I'm not sure if they still do. They were stupidly cheap.

but who care about last seasons stuff. LOL, most people cant afford to buy this sort of gear anyway, who the hell is going to notice if you have last seasons gear.

I have never been myself personally I just usually wait for sales and go house of fraser or john lewis.

Is it really a big discount.

I need a rough idea. If a rrp of a jacket is £150, how much would it be at these outlets.

This is just a guess so don't hold it against me or anything but bought a RL jacket from Bicester for about £60 and the retail price was £130ish from the top of my head. It really does vary, some items are very heavily discounted so you get under half price but some less so.

This - if you go to a Ralph Lauren outlet store over there you can get things at silly prices. Picked up a few Polo shirts at $15 each!

Do you know of any in New York or LA? Am going to both places in the next few months so might be worth dropping by to have a look!

I wasn't making any comment on it.

I was just pointing out that was what most of the items sold in Bicester Village originally were. Much like TK Maxx.

Like you say, something like a Ralph Lauren shirt doesn't really change much between seasons, infact, it's not really changed much in a decade.

The issue I have with TK Maxx is a great deal of there clothes look like your old clothes which you have washed around a hundred times and just ironed and hung up. They never look or feel crisp like new clothes should. It defeats the point of having an item of clothing such as an RL shirt which should look sharp.

There's some gems there if you can bothered to look as my friend always have some pretty nice clothes and they are always from TK Maxx. I don't have the patience.

You get what you pay for and all that.
