Hello all,
Looking to add some RGB to my current build - that means upgrading my current Ripjaws 2x8gb (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB). Want to go for 32gb this time however got some questions before I commit to it.
I'd like my ram to be Asus Aura compatible, so I currently got 2 options to choose from:
1. Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer BLT2K8G4D32AET4K 2x8GB 3200mhz are currently discounted to £68 however with these I need to buy x2, making it 4x8gb sticks.
2. VENGEANCE RGB PRO BLACK 2x16gb 3200mhz are currently around £140 mark. To fill in missing DIMM slots I was thinking of using Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 Light Enhancement Kit which currently goes for around £30 on Amazon.
From what I was reading online, 2 sticks provide better performance than 4, however from the aesthetics point of few, I'd like all 4 dims to be filled. Price wise option 1 is slightly cheaper as well, however difference is not that big so it's not a problem.
Because I use my PC for gaming mostly, I'd like to know how big of an effect going with 4x8gb would have on overall performance if I'd go with Ballistix option? Or should I go with Corsair and just fill the missing dimms with help of light enhancement kit?
My CPU and MB are below:
AMD Ryzen 2600x
Asus TUF x470 Gaming Plus
Any feedback and recommendations are welcome.
Thanks in advance!
