Hello all,
Currently I have an Intel i7-920 @2.67GHz on an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo.
This as you probably know is triple channel and I currently have 3x2GB of Corsair XMS3 Tri-Channel DDR3 RAM @1333MHz.
I am looking to get some more RAM as I do a lot of 3D work and RAM is particularly useful when it comes to ZBrush.
However, I will be upgrading Mobo and CPU hopefully in the new year. This will mean that I'll probably end up with a quad channel board.
What is the fastest RAM that I can have in my P6T and should I go for a quad channel 4x4GB config and remove one of my current sticks or should I go for a dual channel 2x8GB config and keep my all my current sticks?
