Ram and graphics?

Hi, this is my system, http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/pcs/276940/advent-centurion-cbe1401/specifications i bought it as a refurb as it was a decent price and i was looking to upgrade my system to play bf3. So I was looking to spend maybe 200 on it hopefully on ram and a new card although please correct me if you think id be better doing something else within reason! Also has anyone unlocked 4 cores on one of these chips and would they be able to point me the right way? thanks
 
Not much point upgrading RAM as it already has 4GB and going to 8GB won't make much difference in gaming, if any. Main upgrade has got to be the graphics card. The problem is that with these prebuilt units the motherboards are often pretty dire and won't support unlocking even if your CPU may. You can try unlocking it and perhaps overclocking it.

Before upgrading you'll want to check the make and model of PSU and check the physical space available for the new card.
 
You wont be able to unlock cores with that mobo as it has the wrong chipset.

As above, leave the RAM as it's not going to make any difference to gaming, also check your PSU before upgrading the graphics.

For the £200 mark it's between the nVidia 560Ti or the AMD HD 6950.

There's currently a good deal on the 2GB MSI 560Ti

Also the 2GB MSI HD 6950 is on offer, for just a tab more.

Both cards are pretty evenly matched, take a look here for a direct comparison. It's mostly down to what you play and at what resolution, the 560Ti does run a tad cooler than the HD 6950, but not much.

I recently purchased a HD 6950 and I am very very pleased with how it performs. They're so closely matched it's more down to personal preference than anything else really.
 
thanks mate, what sort of price would i be talking for a mobo to support the unlcoking and is it stable and not too difficult to do? Also would i get much gain from this, thanks!

Personally I don't see the point in upgrading the motherboard, else you might as well upgrade the rest of the PC with better CPU etc
