ram and processor

Hi everyone

I wonder if anyone knows whether I can increase the RAM in my computer from 512mb to 2gb when I have a pentium 4 (Intel Inside) processor? And is it worth doing this in terms of whether I will actually notice any difference? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I'm a bit clueless about computers lol!

any idea on specific cpu or m/b?

cpu-z should be able to tell you

cpu and motherboard

CPU is 2.93ghz m/b is p5s800-vm, Rev 1.xx, (NEC Computers International)!!!

Whatever that means lolololol!!!!!
