Hi guys i have a noob question.

Does large screen resolution take up more system ram?

Say if I played Crysis on 1024X768 and 1920X1080, would the game consume same amount of system ram in both instances or is it more dependant on video ram? I mean at larger resolution does the game consume more video ram which in turn consumes more system ram?

I hope you understand what I mean.

Many thanks

It will use the same amount of system RAM, but it will use more vram.

1) I have 5850 so it has 1GB of Vram. Is there any way of knowing how much Vram is being used while just using windows and when playing a game?

2) Also how much Vram does 1920X1080 consume or does it depend on the application you are running?

3) Finally what happens if you run an application which requires more Vram than what is available on your gfx? Does the PC compensate it by using more system ram or the application just becomes jaggy/crashes?

Many thanks again
