just wondering what effect the ram volts have on prime stability as im trying to up my oc at the moment but cant make it past very basic testing at 2.9 gig.

currently im at 2.88ghz, 320 X 9 at 1.485Vcore (i think) in the bios but if i up it to 323 X 9 at 1.5Vcore to try and get 2.9 i cant test it with the basics

my RAM (geil value 2X512 dual channel kit) is currently at 2.75V and im wondering if feeding them a little bit more (2.8?) would help the stability issue?
at 2.9 they would be running at 209 approx

You shouldn't be getting memory errors at those speeds but try a few passes of test 8 of memtest just to be sure. My ram is rated 2.6v-2.8v but won't even boot windows at 200mhz with less than 2.8v and needs 2.9v to run at 250mhz. All m/boards vary even of the same type.
