Hi all...
I'm a newb here-be gentle!
I used to build PC's for Compaq in mid '90s (i8086 - i386, dual floppy's A:\ + B:\ drives, 64-128MB ram, W95 etc.... and that was the deluxe models built for emerging Arab nations) and like to think I know my way around a computer.?
However my dilemma is no doubt one posted many times, and i seek some reassurance.
My friend has a Dell Vostro 470, (I know
) Ivy-Bridge i5, W7-Pro x64, and bought a Dual Channel Kit of DDR3, and I can't find any MoBo specs for installing RAM in D/C mode.
There are 4 channels, in 2 banks available,(offering 1600Mhz @1.5v) coloured "black/white - black/white" and In my experience, Channels 1 - 3 and 2 - 4 are the dual channels, and the colour coding on the board seems to support that theory.
I would be very grateful for any input/confirmation regarding this.
Kind Regards Angela
