i have that main board

WHats the fastest ddr ram that i can buy for it?
im running pc3200 now want fast as possible!

prefer 2gb too!

any help would be ***!

Matt.

Apparently these boards have overclocking problems, word in this thread is that you need a hacked bios to exceed 208 Fsb, are you aware of this?

If your board is limited and you can't get the bios sorted you be better to stick with pc3200.

There is a member on the forum that is offering to send the bios though you need to be careful when flashing it.

sorry for late reply?

SO to run actual faster memory i'd have to flash it?
Or just to overclock mine i'd need too?

I dont want to overclock, just run faster ram then 3200? if thats possible?

Matt

The highest FSB memory supported by the board is DDR400.

In order to get a higher FSB you'd have to Overclock.

If you're just after some new flashy memory, grab a 2x1gb kit with the lowest timings you can within you budget.

Such as...

You can run higher memory, would have to be DDR though, but this is only any use if you are increasing the frontsidebus ie. Overclocking, otherwise it'll underclock itself (wasted).

Next to faster FSB, the tighter timings will make a good difference to.

ok thanks for replies, sorry im sucjh a newbie at this!?

If you are running and Amd64 cpu setup 4 sticks of ram will demote the ram from pc3200 down to pc2700 so 2 sticks of ram are much better because it allows you to run dual channel at pc3200.
