Ram Compatibility and surrounding questions

Hi people,

I've got a P7P55d-e Pro motherboard and 8GB of 1600mhz Ripjaw ram. It's running fine but I currently have to run this in single channel. If I try to run it as Dual Channel then windows says that only 4gb is usable.

According to the motherboard manual (which I should have checked first) this board can only run 1600mhz ram on single channel.

Does anyone know of a way to get around this?

Also if I down-graded to 1333mhz ram and ran it in Dual channel, would that give better performance?

Finally.... will running single channel affect gaming and gpu performance?

What BIOS have you got installed on the MB - there have been quite a few releases and a lot of them include 'improved memory compatibily' - link. There's a chance that with the latest BIOS you may be able to run 1600MHz in dual channel...

If not then i would run 1333MHz in dual channel.
