Hi folks,

I'm slowly upgrading my system piece by piece and need a little advice. My next upgrade of choice is my memory. I'm currently running 3 x 512MB GeiL Value memory on an ASUS A8N-SLi Premium (it was 4, but I gave my parents a stick when I came back from uni since their slow system was annoying me!).

A motherboard and processor upgrade are forthcoming -- I'm not sure if I'll just wait until the end of July and the Intel price drops, or wait until the 45nm processors come in. As a result, I need to know whether the latest memory will work on my A8N (even if it only clocks to the speed of the motherboard) or whether I should just wait until I need the mobo/CPU upgrade.

Any advice appreciated!

I'd wait. You'll need to buy DDR1 for the A8N, and it will be no use to you when you switch to Intel as they are DDR2 only.
