Is that the P5QPL-AM?
There's no reason why the 800MHz RAM wouldn't work.
But then again the 667MHz RAM should work as well.
Either the 667MHz RAM was faulty or you have other issues.
What were you using before you tried the 667MHz RAM?
IIRC some of the earlier Asus P5Q boards had RAM issues, but I can't remember if it was confined to one model or not. You'll have to check the Asus QVL.

I had a 2gb ddr2 333mhz before the 667mhz, i swapped the sticks around and tried them on their own but as long as the 667mhz was there it wouldnt work, even on its own.
And yep its the P5QPL-AM my bad

As above, check if it's on the QVL.![]()
I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as 333MHz DDR2.
667MHz DDR2 runs at 333MHz and this is doubled (Double Data Rate).
It'll only show 333 on CPU-Z mate, but as Surveyor said, it's double data rate so will actually be 667.
