Hello my name is Luka 1st time poster long time reader love the info you guys provide it has helped me out of some jams :)

anyway i decided to add two more sticks of ram to my already existing 8gb (2x4gb) ram but when i browse through the online shops i cant find the exact model i had bought previously (http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3_4G.pdf) so now the question i have:

can you suggest what ram should i get so that i dont run into any compatibility problems (ideal would be another color other than blue but same price range)

and if you can explain how do you know what ram should be compatible with another (what to look for)

and is there anyway to test ram i have 2 more sticks of the same ram i have now but it is known to cause blue screens for some reason (on different motherboards/configurations)

specs:
mother: asus a5m99fx pro rev 2.0
ram: Kingston ddr3 1600mhz 8gb (2x4gb)
cpu: AMD Phenom II 965 x4 (3,4ghz)
gpu: AMD Gigabyte 7950
psu: gigabyte superb E720 720W

also could the psu handle another 7950 (crossfire)?

tnx for the help

If you want to stay at same clock speed,

YOUR BASKET
1 x Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (HX316C10FBK2/8) £49.99
Total : £53.90 (includes shipping : £3.26 Ex.VAT).

You can buy faster ram but you would need to keep the lower speed for compatibility with the existing sticks.

Your existing ram is CL11 so anything with a lower or the same will generally work fine. Check the labels for the lowest, may be 11-11-11-24 1.5V or similar. Type into the bios. Any voltage up to 1.65V is OK for DDR3

I use a mix of corsair vengeance 2000Mhz and patriot mamba 2133MHz, 4 x 4GB sticks in total. That motherboard should be compatible with most makes
and speeds of DDR3.

PSU may be borderline for 2 x 7950.

Seem to be compatible, probably the G version rather than the GX may be more suitable.

In answer to the testing enquiry, download and make a bootable Memtest disk.

regards, andy.
