Hi, all.

I'm in the process of acquiring parts for my gaming build.

I ran the bits through PartPicker and this error popped up.

The Kingston Savage 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

MickyFlyn said in my build thread that it shouldn't be an issue and will just be slightly downclocked by the board, which I was satisfied with....but someone on another forum has said that he had issues....so now I am unsure and thought it best to post in the dedicated RAM forum for a bit more insight.

Any help is very much appreciated.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £869.21

If you enable XMP, it should run at 2400MHz at 1.65V. XMP after all is a pre-programmed overclock profile.

If you don't enable XMP, it will run at 1333/1600MHz at 1.5V.

Thanks for the reply, Borealis.

XMP is something I will need to look into, but I should be fine.

So I shouldn't have any instability issues then?

1.65v on ram with haswell is fine. I used several kits rated at 2400mhz on 1.65v, one I had upto 1.7v without issue when doing a spot of ram clocking.
