Hi,

I'm looking for 16GB*2, 3600Mhz CL16. So I've brought this RAM BL2K16G36C16U4BL "BALLISTIX RGB 32GB" to go with MSI B550 Mobo + Ryzen 5900 processor. Currently got Pro on order, but might switch the Gaming Edge for improved VRM performance.

On here - https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/crucial-bl2k16g36c16u4bl/motherboard
I can see it listed as compatible.

On Crucial website - https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/msi-(micro-star)/mag-b550-tomahawk
I can see it listed as compatible.

But I don't see any BALLISTIX models (Starting BL2) listed on MSI support page.

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B550-A-PRO#support-mem-21

Is this going to be an issue?

Edit - Found a few people on reddit with the combo, and they only seem to complain about the RGB not been controllable, which is of no concern to me. - https://www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/comments/k3g8u2/is_ballistix_rgb_ram_not_compatible_with_bb50/

Had crucial before and didn't have a problem with it. read another thread where they talked about Asus armoury crate controlling rgb. Unfortunately the non rgb is sold out on OCuk, and they seem to have the best price that I've found. I went with corsair 3600c18 which isn't as good but was cheaper and doubt I'll really notice the difference

I didn't think cl16 Vs cl18 would make much difference, but for the small cost in the overall build if it can be done, then I thought why not :)

If I can control the RGB I'll probably just set them to off anyway.

Turns out MSI b550 does support my memory, they list BL16G36C16U4B.M16FE1 and I brought BL2K16G36C16U4BL. If you ignore the 2K part they do match up. the 2k means 2 in a kit, that is BL2K16G36C16U4BL = 2*BL16G36C16U4B.

The m16fe1 related to dual Vs single rank, where m8fe1 is single. This isn't listed online so will check when in hand.
