Just ordered a 3820 with rampage formula. Held off on RAM as don't have a clue.

What a good 16gb kit to buy? Not after real expensive stuff.

I'm a bit of a G.Skill fan myself - not the tightest timings out there, but I'm more of a digital artist than a gamer, and they've proven to be rock solid reliable at their stock speeds every time

Eddie on the platform your running dual channel is fine but on X79 Quad channel is what is needed i.e four dimms designed for quad use. In terms of speed 2133 mhz C9 is about the best bang for buck on X79

Do you have any tips on overclocking this setup 8 pack in terms of CPU and Ram...any gotchas to be careful of?

Also planning on using my existing 750w bequiet PSU which is running my i7 920 @ 4.1... im hoping itll manage an OCd 3820. Thoughts?

Use my X79 overclocking guide in the stickies of my section to get you started. Clock on the 125 strap with 37 multi to start with and push up BLK.

Formula=great board!!!
