Hey guys I posted a couple of days back regarding windows explorer issues which eventually escalated into blue screens and following a format all the issues returned.http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18415881

Well I have the PC now working with only ONE of my two 4gb RAM sticks inserted and everything seems ok at the moment.

I am really concerned because when I first built my machine the RAM would not run to the required speeds, I replaced the RAM and returned it as faulty. I replaced this RAM with 8gb of G.Skill ram and everything was working fine for around 3 weeks then I got the issues I posted in the linked thread above. Now I am having to replace the RAM for the 3rd time after only having the machine for 2-3 months!
Im starting to think that my motherboard could be breaking my RAM?! what should I do? I am going to buy my 3rd set of 8gb RAM and if this goes faulty then im in a real mess.... could it be that im just RAM unlucky or that the PC has a huge problem and is destroying my RAM!

Im starting to wish I just bought my PC from a shop instead of putting it together :(

Im thinking either your having some bad luck with the RAM or you motherboards putting some silly volts through the stuff, in which case it could be running the other components at silly volts to.

I recommend you:
-Start the pc and boot to bios (Or find a software that will read voltage of RAM)
-Check the volts of the RAM over a period of time, on idle and high performance task
-Ensure its not over the recommended value of G.Skill (check your model No. on their site/Google)
-Check other parts like CPU, DVD Drives etc...
-If the Mobos causing the problem RMA is and try include photo evidence when you do to save time.

Also another possibility could be the power supply giving Silly volts although i feel its unlikely.
Whats your Specs?

Thanks & Good Luck,
Curtis

Check the above from wentalong.

Assuming RAM voltage etc. is OK then here's a thought for you.

Loosen the 4 screws securing the H60 waterblock to the motherboard by half a turn each and then try the system again with both sticks of RAM.

If that doesn't cure it then rinse and repeat until hopefully it does but obviously only going so far that the waterblock is still making good contact with the CPU.

If the problem isn't solved then it's possibly faulty RAM (unlucky), motherboard (possible) or even CPU (least likely).

Whats your Specs?

Ok so I made some changes and I have ordered the below:

Sapphire HD 7870 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM
Asrock Z77 FATAL1TY Professional-M (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard
Antec 1100 Eleven Hundred Ultimate Gaming Tower Case - Black
Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CT128M4SSD2)
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-750TXV2UK)
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD10EZRX) **SINGLE PLATTER**
Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A2000C9)
Corsair Hydro H60 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA2011/1366/1155/1156/775/AM2/AM3) (CWCH60)

Thanks Surveyor,

Your RAM could be rated at anything around 1.4-1.7 but i imagine it will be around the 1.65v area, I doubt it would be PSU related but have a strong feeling its your motherboard.

Give it a go and let us know,
Cheers,
Curtis.

Thanks guys well its working fine at the moment with just the 1 4gb stick inserted, whenever I connect the other stick into the ram slot I tested working the PC will give all kind of errors and then blue screen.

I will loosen the H60 half a turn like you suggest anyway.

One change on that build would be the RAM I have in at the moment is - G.Skill DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 4096X2 (x1 due to fault) CL9-9-9-24. 1.5v

The stick is currently running at motherboard auto settings of 11.11.11.28 (as per coreZ) Once I set the mobo to run the RAM Xmp profile the RAM runs fine at the 9-9-9-24 speeds.

I seriously hope I have just been unlucky with RAM because otherwise I will have to decide on swapping out either the PSU or the Mobo.

The ram voltage is showing 1.5v

Ok I have put these in... *no linking to competitors!*

Its running at the correct speeds at the moment so I will let you know how it goes, if this goes faulty then its going to be the motherboard or PSU maybe :(

Also loosened the H60 as you suggested

I honestly wouldn't worry too much. RAM not running at the stated speeds is more common than you think, and its entirely plausible that in your second batch one stick is faulty. The only way to be sure is to grind it out with a few memtest runs and maybe prime runs if you have the time.
