been playing around with my winnie 3000 (on asus a8n-sli), and just got it to boot 300X9 (2.7Ghz) for first time ever....

now my ram(2 X 1gb corsair cl2) is on divider 333, and its running at 246mhz

now i wana push my cpu higher and see what happens, but first i wana put my RAM slower so it doesnt limit the overclocl....

but

when i put it to 266 divider i think, it wont boot, i dont get it, as am i not making the ram run slower?

You need to loosin the timings on your ram, when i put a devider on my ram it tightens the timings
now its 2.5-3-3-7

ill try 3-4-4-8, i hope this wont be too much of a performace drop if it works?

weird problem :S

i've got similar RAM and it used to have ther same problem... wouldn't boot at DDR266 with 300FSB but would boot at unhealthy speeds with DDR333 set.

then one day it did :s

i've really no idea why *shrugs*
