ok iv just had my amd 4400x2 at 2.65ghz at 1.65v (anything below that volts and it doesnt even want to boot up)

full load was 61c and idle 23c

and it was 100% stable in orthos. then i ran memtest. oh dear..

btw my settings was 265x10 and 4x htt

and my memory was at 166/200x265 = 220mhz.

even when i loosened the timings it errored in mem test. and when i tryed 133/200 it just corrupted my bios settings.

any help would be greatfull thanks :) btw my mobo is a crummy old msi k8n neo-4 ultra. and my memory are two sticks of paired 512mb kingston year 2004

(edit: so iv rolled back to 2.6ghz for time being untill i sort my ram out) thanks

allso iv just ordered a arctic freezer 64 and im going to remove my IHS when i get it :) btw its a socket 939 :)

What spec is the RAM PC3200 ? if so then its probably at its limit.

Sometimes the 133 divider crashes a lot of mobos ive noticed from looking around various forums there seems to be a lot of trouble with it.

Try lowering the htt link multiplier to 3x from 4x as your htt speed is over 1000mhz. This might be why memtest is throwing up errors.

Also, 61c is too hot imo, try and get it under 60c full load if possible as the max temp before they start crashing is usually around 65c depending on chip and how well the ihs is making contact with the core.

yep i know. 61c is round about fine tho only 1c over 60 lol.

and yes its pc3200

iv got a bad IHS contact cause one cores 10c hotter than other.

so im removing the IHS when my arctic freezer comes so heat isnt a worry,

ill try x3 htt, alltho im not sure it will make a difference because really x4 qualing 1060 isnt esacilly high really

thanks for the help tho.

does any one have a arctic freezer with a removed ihs, if so how much did it drop in temp? thanks
