I've been having sporadic crashes and corrupted downloads for the past couple of weeks - after messing around with my PC upgrading and swapping graphics cards. Finally tracked down the issue with MemTest86 to a faulty bank of RAM. Now everything seems OK(fingers crossed).
What I'd like to know is what are the typical causes of RAM errors/failure? Something caused the RAM to fail(power surge?) at around the time I was installing a new graphics card and I'm concerned that this event might have damaged other components (like the new graphics card - which can still be returned at this time).
