Hi,
I recently bought some g skill trident x 2666mhz ddr3 ram. It came with the turbulence 2 fan kit.
I am running the ram on its Xmp profile at 1.65v 2666mhz.
I couldnt fit the fan, because my cpu cooler tower blocks the first ram slot. (my ram is in 2 - 4).
My cooler is the hyper 212 evo in the default push configuration.
Does my ram need the fan fitted? Or will my cpu fan provide sufficient airflow to cool the ram's heatspreaders?
I was going to upgrade to a noctua nh d15, so i could overclock my i7 4790k, but tempted now to get an all in one liquid cooler. As the noctua will still block my ram fan. I want to avoid liquid as I'm concerned of leaks.
Should i be worried about ram temps if i cant fit my ram fan?
Should i get a all in one liquid cpu cooler or is it risky?

Aslong as you have some airflow over the RAM i.e. from CPU heatsink it will be fine - RAM only really benefits from additional active cooling at stupid overclocks that would really need something more exotic than air cooling anyhow (or if you have nothing else in the case generating airflow near the RAM).
