Hey dannywaugh1, I would have to agree with Bradmax57, what is wrong with the memory that you currently have? If you are not looking to overclock, then the memory that you have at the moment is perfectly fine in my opinion. However if you are looking to overclock or have already done so and its your memory that is holding you back then I would personally recommend the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit, very high quality memory and the price its currently going for, its a fantastic deal. These kits are well known for hitting 1000MHZ, with pretty reasonable tight timings.

You may also be interested in the OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2. If you are looking at keeping the memory at stock, The OCZ kit will be perfect and at the price its currently selling at, you can't beat it. Now these might not overclock as well as the Crucial Ballistix kit with as tight as timings but they should still be able to hit 900 - 950MHZ quite easily, however, even if you keep these running at its stated speed of 800MHZ, it will take your Q6600 all the way up to 3.6GHz.

If you are looking at the above kits and you are wanting 4GB of memory, you will obviously have to buy two kits. If you are wanting to have 2X 2GB instead of 4x 1GB then take a look at the OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2, once again, for the price, you just cant beat it. However please be aware that most of the 2x 2GB Memory kits out their, do not overclock well at all and if you are looking at overclocking your Q6600 above the 3.6GHz mark then do not get the above OCZ kit. Now if you are only looking at overclocking your Q6600 to the 3.6GHz mark then I would highly recommend the above kit, absolutely fantastic for the price.

lol no but in all fairness its not bad ram he has hence why I asked, sure pc5300 isnt the fastest but it should clock to pc6400 no probs and correct me if im wrong but are there any 2x2gb kits faster than that?
