Ram for Amilo A 1630

HI all,

Im thinking of trying to upgrade the Ram in my Amilo A1630 laptop, current 2x512 2700. I was wondering if there is any 3200 stuff availble for it, or any other ram that may give it a boost, i get the felling my 3700 core isnt getting its best coz of the ram.

It probably takes standard SO-DIMMS, although you might not find a great benefit over PC2700 - also depends if the laptop m/b chipset will run it at full speed. Certain laptops have a habit of not running memory at full speed for one reason or another. I'm not too sure if OcUK do SO-DIMMS, haven't seen any.

I have this laptop and have installed a pair of Corsair 1gb pc3200 So-Dimms the bios reconises both Dimms and runs them at 3200 speeds.
I have noticed a huge performance increase in games especially BF2 and X3.

Just make sure you have the latest bios before installing otherwise it wont reconise more than 1gb...
