Hello,

Could anyone advise what RAM I should be pairing with the following:

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz

+

Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P

After allot of forum and review reading I've come up with a couple of choices (that I can find in stock):

G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-042-GS

or

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 10666C9 1333MHz TwinX Dual Channel

The G.Skill is slightly cheaper, I will probably be using it (CPU) at stock (atleast to begin with) can anyone advise either way? Or possibly something completely different?

It will be primarily used for gaming.

Thanks,

Hi, unfortunately neither of those really, theyll work but theyre the wrong voltage really, AMD systems are designed around 1.9V RAM where as those are both 1.65V intended for Intel, Id recomend this Patriot stuff, best option

I am running some low voltage ocz @ 1.7v(ish) as the mobo i (we) have supposedly under volts ram and its working perfectly. Of the 2 you chose i would go for the Ripjaw as this will allow overclocking room.
