RAM for Gaming

I'm just curious as to what RAM i should get, due to the cheapness of it at the moment, since there are so many types and im not that clued up on the timing aspect and frequency of them, i want to replace my GeIL DDR3 2x2 GB i cannot remember the exact timings of them, but i feel i need an upgrade.

what if i were to start using Video editing software such as After effects?

Yeah i was actually looking at that previously, how would i go about using all four sticks? (the ones i already have and these 2)
