So I'm looking for some RAM for a Haswell system. A kit of 16GB (2x8GB) for around £150 really. I seem to remember reading something about 1.35v RAM being needed, but I can only find stuff around 1333MHz and 1600MHz. Everything I'm finding in 1866MHz and 2133MHz is all around 1.5/1.6/1.65V.

Does haswell really need 1.35V RAM? Some of the 1.6V kits are saying that they're "Approved for Intel i5/i7" and "XMP profile", but it's just the volts scaring me... unless I was told wrong and you don't need the low voltage stuff?

No man!!

Haswell you can use 1.65 24/7 with no problems at all. Infact I have used 2.35v on my DIMMS with several Haswells and they are all fine.

I think what your referring to with 1.35v is recommended top voltage you can use on the Vcore of the chip on air.

Some low voltage kits such as Samsung green run stock on 1.35v, but theyll take much higher voltage.

Thanks, don't know where it was I'd read about the latest generation Core i needing low voltage RAM!

Now to get some nice fast stuff and clock the hell out of it :D.

I have just 8gb Avexir 2133 and there is a nice guide how to click it up to 2400, somwhere on the forums. I think even made by 8pack, so you know its solid.
Not sure how Avexir clocks as my pc isn't runing yet, but I'll try to clock it to 2400.
And it looks so nice :-)
Only problem is they dont make Gold edition in bigger dice than 4Gb each, otherwise I'd have 16 gb of it.

I'm running 4x8GB Kingston HyperBlue at just 1.35v on Haswell i7. Standard 1600 speed, but slightly tighter timings (9 9 9 24) than stock. I thought they would never be stable given timings and voltage, but been running like this for over a month now. As it happens I also own Samsung Green but never tried to undervolt them. I expect these would go even lower then 1.35 at stock voltage

Why do you need 32gb of ram? Virtual machines etc? Personally im a gamer with an sli setup, ram isnt a major issue in games. But i like tweaking, the samsung green offers that tweaking option. It can take voltages, timings etc. Might not seem much to 99% of users, but tbh i like to tweak the kit i have. Not the best at it but willing to learn.:)
