Im finding it quite hard to find out the correct ram to buy for my n40l to upgrade it from the stock 2gb to 4gb.
There were some recommendations floating around but they were quite old and i can not find those ones.
I use it as a HTPC and its been really good so far but i wanted to upgrade from Windows 7 32 to Windows 8.1 64 and eventually Windows 10 64 so i figured an extra stick of ram might be good.
all i know is i can not use Non-ECC ram.

tbh, memory always was the most confusing part of upgrading for me, never knew which one to get.

hope some one can help please!
thanks

I recall it came with that so no idea where to buy. Hopefully the part number will help

Memory type DDR3
Module format UDIMM
Manufacturer (ID) Micron Technology (2C000000000000000000)
Size 4096 MBytes
Max bandwidth PC3-10700 (667 MHz)
Part number 18JSF51272AZ-1G4M1
Serial number DEA2A5C1
Manufacturing date Week 05/Year 13
Number of banks 8
Nominal Voltage 1.50 Volts

ah, no problem, il keep looking..
I found out that it MUST be unbuffered (not registered), and it's best to get ECC
...whatever that means
