RAM for new amd quadcore

Hi ive just got the asus crosshair mobo (am2 sli ready) for xmas and I im going to buy the new amd quadcore just wondering what ram would be ideal? Its going to be used mostly for gaming my graphics card is gts 8800 640mb.

Why get a Phenom when the Intels are a much better value for the enthusiast? It might make more sense if you already had an AM2 mobo that you liked.
