Hi guys, just need a little help with some new ram. My build is a high end gaming pc that will be overclocked!

Atm i am un sure weather to go for Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-14400C9 (1866MHz) Tri-Channel (TR3X6G1866C9DF) [TR3X6G1866C9DF]

or:

OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (OCZ3G1600LV6GK) [OCZ3G1600LV6GK]

x2 for a 12gb of ram set up.
will 12 gb of ram of cheaper ram work better? the corsair dominator has very good reveiws for overclocking, which is what i am going to be doing.

any suggestions?

Is the PC just for gaming?

If so then I'm pretty sure that you don't need more than 6GB of RAM at the moment. On top of that, using all 6 momory slots on an X58 board puts more stress on the integrated memory controller on the CPU - thus restricting your CPU and RAM overclocking.

If I were you i'd go for some decent 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz CL9 RAM (or CL8 if you feel like spending the money - not any big gain in performance) like this, and get a nice cooler for your CPU (presumably i7 930) and clock it to 4GHz.
