ram for sandy bridge build?

Upping the multiplier doesn't affect the RAM speed. It stays at 1333MHz, 1600MHz etc. regardless of the multiplier.

1333MHz RAM is hardly any different in price to 1600MHz so I would recommend you get 1600MHz.

And 1600MHz is the sweet spot for Sandy Bridge: The Best Memory For Sandy Bridge.

It would be rude not to get 8GB at current prices so one of these:

The low profile RAM won't interfere with big CPU coolers.

Remember you need an unlocked "K" series processor and a P67 or Z68 chipset motherboard for overclocking .
