Recently I have started looking up at all the components for my first/new build for video editing and some gaming. However, I have no idea what RAMs would be the best. Of course, I would go with the quickest DDR4 (3200+OC), but the price is just ridiculous as I want to go with 32GB.
Personally I have never had RAMs above DDR3 1600Mhz so I'm not sure what would be the different between DDR4 2400Mhz vs 3000Mhz vs 3200Mhz in real terms. I have read that the quickest RAMs aren't really noticeable for most people compared to a little bit slower ones. Can anyone share their experience with different RAM frequencies and how they differ?

Edit: I am thinking to go with Intel 5820K or 6800K (since they're both are basically the same, whichever will be cheaper and still available on amazon by the end of the summer) and GTX 1080.

Faster ram is slightly faster but the financial cost can be quite high. If you're a novice builder you should buy RAM that is on the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists) for your motherboard. The sweet spot is probably around 2666.
