I have my E4300 running at 3GHz (9x333) quite nicely but recently "upgraded" from 2GB of Corsair 675Mhz stuff to 4GB of unbranded 800 stuff. As there are no timings/voltages indicated I am running it at 667 4-4-4-15 which is what cpu-z says it should be. However I am getting random crashes and errors which look memory related. This seems to get worse and my system more unstable if I set them to 800MHz. I have no idea what to set the voltage to. My cpu is on 1.45V +100mV and my northbridge to 1.5V. Have not run memtest yet.

I guess you should try running memtest at 667 4-4-4-15 if that's what the sticks are supposed to be set at.

Default DDR2 voltage is 1.8 and for the 667/800 mark that should be about right.

id turn off +100mV, lower north bridge and increase vcore
also set ram voltage to 1.95 and run it on 1:1

thanks for that, I'll try. Burnt myself off a copy of memtest at work so I'll try that as well. It's a choice of either Auto or +100mv on my BIOS. If I up the cpu voltage to say 1.5 and the auto kicks in, could that not overvolt the cpu and blow it?
