Hi guys,

I bought a P5Q Pro last week along with another kit of Corsair XMS2 6400 (2*2gb).

All went well - got into windows...everything was fine (previous installation).

I powered down, unplugged and sorted a few SATA cables. On bootup it kept blue screening. I ran memtest and my new set of 2*2gb (already had another set) was faulty.

I ordered another set - which came today and my PC won't even boot with it.

What gives? It's the same 4gb kit that currently sits in my PC.

with 3 sticks in (old kit + 1 2gb stick from the new kit) it shows the Asus splash screen but seems to lock :(

Have you manually set the voltage in the BIOS? often mobo's undervolt RAM which isnt so much an issue with 2 sticks but becomes more of an issue with 3/4, you could also try notching NB up a touch, and ensure you have latest BIOS version

Yeah tried setting the voltages manually.

The NB shouldn't matter as it's working perfectly atm with exactly the same kit (just older).

are you adding the ram or replacing it? If your adding it, then you have to up the NB a bit, as 4 sticks = moar power!

Other than that, could just be unlucky. Try different slots etc, could be the ram is less tolerant, or something.
