Mother board - RC410-M (Asterope)

it states that the max amount of ram i can put on is 2gb, however i was told that it would take 3gb with windows xp.

so i had 1gb, and thought i would add an extra 2gb.

It now only see's the 2gb chip, any idea if i can get it to see the other 1gb chip?

Cheers for the help in advance - not that clued up about pc's atm.

small update -

if i use CPU-Z to scan my computer it finds all 3gb of ram.
However using SiSoftware Sandra Lite 2009.SP2 - it only sees the 2gb chip.

i belive this to be because your motherboard can only use 2gigs of ram max then it sees your 2gig stick as 1 gig and the other stick.

cpu-z will see all the ram that is physically installed even though it is not actually getting used.

new motherboard here i come :)

Have you checked for a BIOS update for the board, As an update may allow for more ram.
